Q. Which size scooter is right for me? A. Our 50cc scooters can cruise at 40+ mph and get up to 100 mpgs. Best for one person or two smaller people and most city streets where the speed limit is around 35. Our 125 to 150cc scooters can cruise at about 60 mph, get 80-100 mpgs, get up the hills at speed without too much trouble, carry two people and are ideal for city streets. Our 200-300cc can cruise at 65-80+ mph, get 70-80 mpgs and are good for bigger roads, bigger people, and two riders.
Q. Do I need a motorcycle license to ride a scooter? A. In Ohio, you do. A. In Kentucky, if it is less than 50cc, you don't. A. In Indiana, if it's less than 50cc, you don't. Q. How the heck am I going to get one of those? A. In Ohio, you go to the a BMV testing facility, and take a written test, actually on a touch screen computer. Once you pass the test, you will obtain you Novice Permit. With a Novice Permit, you can ride on the roads, wearing a helmet, during daylight hours, with no passanger, for up to one year. Now you have two options: Take a motorcycle safety course. Take the road test, which is actually four obsticles in a big parking lot. Complete either or both and you may obtain a motorcycle endorsement on your license. Q. It's just a scooter. Do I need to wear a helmet? A. Yes. And we will hassle you every time we see you if you don't because we like you. The man says in Ohio, legally you must wear a helmet for the first year after obtaining a MC endorsement. Q. But I'm just going to the store which is just down the street. Now do I need a helmet? A. Yes. The ground is just as hard regardless of the length of your ride.
